Valuable rental accommodation to be converted to hotel use

Peterson Group, a partner in the 1401 Comox project is proposing to convert residential space at Carmana Plaza, 1128 Alberni to a hotel. Ironically, Peterson is applying to take 96 rental units OFF the market while simultaneously seeking (with Westbank) millions of dollars in incentives from the City to build 193 rental units under the STIR program at 1401 Comox.
