The deadline for the West End Community Survey is today (Friday, August 17, 2012).
Nearly 13,000 people have signed the WEN petition asking City Hall for a halt to spot rezonings, and instead to respect of current zoning and to develop a comprehensive plan through meaningful consultation.
Spot rezonings have continued, but the City this year started a community planning process for the West End. When completed in 2013, the resulting plan is expected provide long-range and short-term direction on a variety of topics, including land use, urban design, housing, transportation, parks and public spaces, heritage features, and community facilities.
The City needs your input and ideas to help shape the plan. Please fill out the City’s West End Community Survey to help identify key ideas, interests and opportunities that are important to the community. This work will shape the planning process over the next 15-18 months. The survey is available online here:
Hard copies are also available at West End Community Centre and Gordon Neighbourhood House, and completed surveys can be dropped off at both locations.
As the City has not indicated the exact closing time, we have written the planning team asking them to ensure that the survey remains open at least until midnight on August 17. No confirmation has yet been received.
