This it the last major chance for public input on this topic. WEN will provide some analysis, time permitting. [Update: Residents within a few blocks of lower Davie Street and along lower Robson and Alberni Streets need to know that once zoning is changed on Jan 23 you will have significantly less opportunity to say anything about changes in your neighbourhood. If rezoned on Jan 23, new tower developments can even be approved internally at City Hall by the Director of Planning alone.]

Speak at a public hearing on proposed West End zoning amendments on January 23

January 9, 2014 [actually posted on Jan 13]– As part of implementing the new West End community plan, amendments have been proposed to the:

Zoning and Development Bylaw for social and market housing, and residential and commercial developments
Downtown Official Development Plan
Rental Housing Stock Official Development Plan

The proposed changes include adding definitions for “social” and “secured market rental” housing, and rezoning portions of Davie, Denman, and Robson Streets.
